Swim Team Sign Ups Coming Soon

Plaza Oaks Parents,

Kids driving you bananas? Climbing the walls? Need a way to stay cool and active now that the heat is here?

The information you have been waiting for is here! Swim Team will start soon!

Calling all Plaza Oaks Piranhas!

  • Our season will run May 26 – June 26.
  • The days of May 26-28 we will have afternoon practice and starting Friday, May 29 we will practice in the morning.
  • Practice times will roughly be the same as in years past, but may need to be adjusted depending on how many are signed up in each age group.
  • We understand for younger athletes (8 & Under) that parents may need to remain at practice, we ask you to follow government guidelines regarding social distancing on the side of pool while you observe your child.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at our facility.
  • The goal for this summer is self-improvement. Try to beat times from the beginning of the season. Swimmers can also strive to win their age group.
  • We will have at least two time trials that will be held during regular practice times with minimal personnel at the pool (no spectators). Times will be posted to Swimtopia to see improvement. If group gathering sizes are increased, we would like to add an Intrasquad Meet.
  • There are discussions with other teams that are still going to have a swim team this summer to try to arrange small age group level meets against teams. For example, Wilchester 7-8 Girls vs Plaza Oaks 7-8 Girls.
  • We are still planning to incorporate Half Lappers. More details to come on this.

Since we will have a shortened season and likely won’t have any formal meets, the fee for swim team this year is $50 per kid across the board.

Right now we are still waiting for Monday’s press conference to see exactly how we will be able to run the season, but even at the current allowances, we are still able to start swim practices and get your kids some exercise!
